The real estate sector has once again exceeded its expectations. The political uncertainty of Spain in 2016 has not been able to stop the moment of boom that the brick lives in Spain, since for another year record numbers have been reached that touch the 14,000 million euros in investment.
Although the data are encouraging, all experts agree that the recovery of the sector will be slow in a long and smooth expansion cycle. The price growth will be 2% and the construction sector will not in the short term be one of the engines of Spanish economic growth
Buying a property in Spain is an option that increasingly seduces foreigners. During the first nine months of 2016, this group has allocated 8,446 million euros to the acquisition of homes. An amount that represents 19.4% of total, a turnover in the real estate market, and the highest percentage in the historical series.
This number of transactions, extracted from the data of the Spanish Ministry of Development, show how foreign investment in Spanish Real Estate Sector accumulates five consecutive years to the rise. This trend is expected to continue in 2017, despite the negative effects on the housing market that Brexit may have.
It is expected that prices and trading operations will continue to increase. Although the improvement will extend over more cities, the dynamism of Barcelona, Madrid, Costa del Sol, Alicante and the islands contrasts sharply with what happens in areas of interior and some coasts with high levels of stock and price falls.
