Why buying home in Orihuela Costa?

With approximately 19,000 British living in the Orihuela Costa it is often described as 'Little Britain'. However, there are many nationalities that do live here, all harmoniously.

There are many supermarkets within the Orihuela Costa, you have your local corner shop, the local convenience supermarkets and the bigger supermarkets. The majority of shops and supermarkets within this area sell a range of English products, and of course there are several English shops within the area where you can get your much loved bar of Cadbury's, pack of Walkers or at that special time of year a Mr Kipling Mince pie that you are just dying for!

Being hugely populated by Brits there are several British shops all around the area that will stock many of your loved products from back in the UK. If you can travel a little further a field then you will find Iceland 20 minutes either side of the Orihuela Costa, in Torrevieja and also in San Javier. Other shops you may recognise in the area are Aldi and Lidl. Many of the other big Spanish supermarkets around, Dialprix, Consum, Alcampo, Eroski etc also stock many English (and other foreign) products. Mercadona, the other big Spanish supermarket tends to stock mainly Spanish brands but do offer good quality produce.

As well as food shopping you will find the major retail complex La Zenia Boulevard, which is home to many clothes stores, electrical store, DIY and a wide range of restaurants. La Zenia Boulevard opened in 2012, this is a modern, open roofed shopping centre. On the lower ground it has many shops such as Primark, H&M, Laura Ashley, Kiko, Punta Roma, Claires, etc along with a pharmacy and bowling alley. On the upper floor you will find many restaurants and a big play area for the children to enjoy. As well as clothes stores and restaurants you will find the hypermarket Alcampo situated here and the electrical store Media Markt.
