The price of new housing grew by 3.3% in 2016, after closing the second half of the year with a rise of 1.9% in provincial capitals, to an average value of 2,120 euros per square meter, according to The report of ST Valuation Company. This is the first increase in nine years.

The figure is still far from the 2,905 euros per square meter for provincial capitals that touched in December 2007, before the bursting of the housing bubble and the beginning of the economic crisis.
In 2016, according to the report, the stabilization of the sector is consolidated by the favorable evolution of the factors that affect it: the appreciable increase in the number of transactions, the generalized rise in prices, although in a discreet way, the reactivation of the sale of Housing on plan, improvement in accessibility to credit and, finally, an improvement in macroeconomic parameters.
